The Secret Link

Dan looked through his display, not knowing if was going to make it through this. Those blasted Bioroids had destoyed Zegama base as well as his love, Lavanna.
He did not know what his orders were any longer. Should he retreat? Should he attack? Should he hide?
He could not decide. He simply held his ground. The triumvirates came closer and closer. Only one thing left to do. He went to Battloid and made his move, sending five Bioroids to the ground before running out of ammo. He deicided to take some of them with him. He reached for self-destruct button. It did not work. That's when it hit him. There was a slight chance he could escape but he was throwing it away.
Then he reiceived a mysterious call on his com.
"Don't die, pilot. Your friends, your family, and Earth still need you. Fight on."
Then he deicided. He would win this battle and return home no matter what. He had a missing link. And now he knew what it was.
His fighting spirit.
