I'm trying to get my friend Katja to come over and watch the Macross Saga with me. She seems interested but I can't get her to come over (it's on my computer). The two of us hatched a plan to go to Anime Expo next year and I want her to be familiar with it because I'm going to cosplay as Lisa (hopefully). | |

Sorry to bump...
I've been showing Katja RT--we've gotten thru about the first 13 eps so far. She likes it, and it's funny to see her reactions to certain things: she thought it was funny when Dolza wanted Rick to kiss Ben (she cracked up over that), and she thinks Ben's kinda dumb (sorry, Ben fans ^^;). She also can't stand Minmei, but then she hasn't yet met Lynn Kyle (lol).
Interestingly, the German guy down in Engineering on the SDF-1 bugs her, too (I think his name is Emil Lang?). She says his eyes look all weird. Anyway, I tease her about it.  | |

I've started watching the episodes on Space with my son and he loves it. I have all the novels and he wants to read them...however, do I really want to get into the whole canon vs. non-canon  !? | |

I'm going through it with my wife right now. Tomorrow, Roy dies. I can't wait to see her reaction to that.
(Just to elaborate, I'm not being morbid. I just think that his death will be a good test of how involved with these characters she's become.)

do tell, when you get a chance. It'll be interesting.
I've been telling my friends and colleagues about Robotech for months now. I don't know how to convince them to give Robotech a chance. (Especially since many of them are Trekkies or into sci-fi on some level.)

At first she didn't really believe Roy was dead. It too her to the credits starting to role for her to believe it was true.
Ben died on us last nite, and the SDF has been kicked off Earth. (She didn't think that Konda, Rico, and Brawn were going to go back.)
To me, it seems that although she's paying attention to the overall story, she seems to have centered on the dynamic between Rick, Lisa, Minmei, and Kyle.
