Subject: NYCC Panel Times...

Edited on: February 25, 2008 - 12:13:50 PM

Here are the confirmed panel times for NYCC.

FRIDAY - APRIL 18

HOW TO TALK TO GIRLS (AND GUYS) AT CONVENTIONS - 4 p.m.

Do you attend dozens of conventions every year and wonder why you're still having a hard time talking to the opposite sex? Steve Yun hosts an
informative and fun panel where you can learn some tips, tricks and cheat codes to help you get better at your game.

SATURDAY - APRIL 19

ROBOTECH PAST PRESENT AND FUTURE - 1 p.m.

Tommy Yune, director of Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles, covers the history of the animated series that introduced a generation to anime,
and discusses upcoming new releases in the wake of the announcement of the live action feature film.

THE GIANT ROBOT RUMBLE - 6:30 p.m.

Remember when you were in elementary school and you argued with your friends about whether Voltron or Optimus Prime would win in a fight? Well, prepare
for the ultimate in nerdy panels: Steve Yun hosts a tournament where panelists and attendees argue and vote over which robots would win in a fight. Sixteen robots enter the arena, but only one will emerge as the victor!

SUNDAY - ARPIL 20

ROBOTECH FREE-FOR-ALL! - 1 p.m.

Did you miss Saturday’s panel? Do you still have questions about the past, present or future of Robotech? Well then here is your chance to get your questions answered!

well I just want to know if there are plans to use the Robotech Shadow Chronicles storyline into a game for any of the popular consoles? (especially the DS within the Super Robot Wars series) that Recently in S.R.W Scramble Commander 2 by Banpresto has been introduced beautifully

Hi Everyone,

Due to circumstances beyond our control the How To Talk Girls (and Guys) Panel, scheduled for Friday at 4 p.m., has been cancelled.

All the other panels for Saturday and Sunday are a go!

I was at the con today and I want to thank Steve and Tommy for being there. I went up to ask a question but by the time I had thought of a really good question it was too late. They cut the line off one guy in front of me because we were running short on time.

I wanted to ask what the chances were of seeing enemy masterpiece collections, such as battle pods, invid troopers and scouts, as well as Bioroids. Not to mention that there are plenty of Macross and Invid saga masterpiece vehicles out there, but nothing from Southern Cross (even though it's my least favorite of the sagas). AND what about the possiblity of ships? An SDF-1 masterpiece? Breetai's flagship? Maybe some toy models of the newer vessels.

Other than my missed opportunity to inquire about this, I am glad that the whole Robotech live action movie with Tobey McGuire could be officially backed up by the panel as a distinct and real probability. As Tommy stated, the live action movie is involving so much more than he can comprehend, with A-list stars being pursued for roles.

Glad to hear it. But as long as I see the SDF and transforming veritechs fighting Zentraedi pods... I'm good to go.

Tommy was asked a bunch of questions about the live-action movie but didn't give very much away.

One question inquired about how close to the original Robotech series will the live-action movie be?

Tommy responded that Robotech will go through a re-interperetation, like all movies based on comics or cartoons. He used the example of the X-Men changing costumes, because their original costume designs wouldn't fly. Things like that. But he assured everyone that they are striving to get the movie as close to the Robotech that we all know and love as possible.

Because it's so early in the process he couldn't really reveal much more.
