looks like the standard Shadow Fighter with purple trim instead of gray. Looks sharp, but worth another investment? Especially with the Betas rolling out. Will there be a Maia Beta to go with it?

Why bother? The Masterpiece Collection Maia Sterling VF/A-6ZX is just a slight repaint of the Sue Graham VF/A-6X with the head from the Rook Bartley VF/A-6Z. Is that really worth $60? No.

Why ever buy any repaint then?

Why indeed? You wouldn't catch me doing any such thing. The only repaints in my collection are the ones I could not avoid (because they came packaged with something else, like the 3-pack of DYRL VF-1's)

the only repaints I buy are the ones that are too extensive for me to do myself. I fancy myself as an amateur toy customizer.

Then, I need your help, and yes, I am willing to pay for it. SetoKaiba knows why, it involves making RT rpg figurines to the right scale. Contact me via email?

A WW2 101st Airborne received a letter from the IRS. He’d be thrown in jail if he didn’t pay. He stuffed an envelope with all the $ he had. "If the IRS promises to throw me in jail, then by God come and get me!" he wrote. Never heard from them again.

You would think the Robotech.com store would have this everywhere. SHADOW CHRONICLES TOYS ARE FINALLY HERE!!! Nothing... it seems a little odd. You can't even preorder the thing here.

Edit:
Wow, I just looked at the pics. There's one good thing, it looks like they actually painted the stripes on the wings. Now the bad news, it looks like they dropped the Aoshima improvements! I was really hoping this would be what the Aoshima was *supposed* to be but you can tell from the big seam down the middle of the thigh that they went back to the standard MPC build. This also means the hands are probably build to crumble.

I placed my order and can't wait to see it.

Subject: Latest Email about MPC Maia Sterling Fighter
Posted on: December 9, 2008 - 3:39:59 PM

Hi everyone

I have to make a big apology to all of you who ordered the Masterpiece
Shadow Fighter (Maia Sterling) over the last two days. As it turns out,
there was a minimum price that Toynami was enforcing on all of the toys that
we were mistaken about. Instead of being $59.99, the price of the
Masterpiece Shadow Fighter will be $79.99. As a result of this, we will have
to cancel your preorders and let you decide whether to place a new order at
the new price.

Once again, we apologize for the confusion and the inconveniences.

If you would like to order again, the preorder is here:

Why didn't Toynami make it like Maia's shadow fighter? All they did was repaint Rook's... but that's not correct. The prototype being shown here is correct but pictures of the actual product show that all the shadow fighter elements were dropped. Shame on Toynami.

While Robotech.com is advertising production run of 10,000 for this one, you can see on the "Certificate of Authenticity" on the page that herobot gave us the link to, it clearly says "Limited Edition:______ of 5,000".

I am still undecided if i am going to order it or not.
But i think they should honor the 59.99 price for those who pre-ordered it under that price. But give them credit for saying we made a mistake.
