As a special bonus Khristy Moser also sang a classic song from Lynn Minmei to the delight of the fans present! Michael brought the crowd to its feet with his singing the classic "Look Up". As one fan said to Michael after the concert as he singed autographs, "I had to stand and up and cheer when you played that song!"
CODENAME: ROBOTECH SCREENING
To celebrate Robotech’s 20th Anniversary Kunicon and Harmony Gold hosted a screening of the rarely seen CODENAME: ROBOTECH at 10:30 p.m. Before the screening Kevin McKeever gave away VF-1 and Alpha Fighter MPC’s, Ben Dixon and Lancer cels drawn by Tommy Yune. ROBOTECH INDUSTRY PANEL
Saturday’s Robotech programming began at 12 noon with a special three-hour panel on Robotech’s past, present and future. The panel began with a personal look back on the making of Robotech with Richard Epcar and Michael Bradley. Fans were able to hear firsthand accounts on the creative process and production of the original series plus they were able to ask both Richard and Michael questions about voice acting, music composition, dubbing anime, music production and advice on how to break into the industry! Michael also revealed that not only does he have a new website (http://www.michaelbradleymusic.com) he is currently producing a album with new versions of all the classic Robotech songs. Also Michael will be performing all of these songs, with his band The RK Project at Robocon / Anime Expo in a special concert!
Tommy Yune then took to the floor to talk about Robotech’s future and give fans the latest information on Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles. Fans at Kunicon Atlanta were among the first to find out about:
- The production process between Harmony Gold, Tatsunoko Productions and DR Movie.
- New production art and graphics.
- New 3D animatics of action sequences.
- Footage demonstrating for the first time how 2D and 3D animation will be merged.
- Mecha designs with size comparisons of mysterious new vessels.
- Actual test footage of General Reinhardt (Dan Woren) and Captain Vince Grant (Richard Epcar) synchronized to recorded audio.
- Scott Glasgow has been brought aboard to compose the music for The Shadow Chronicles!
